Working from home? 6 Tips on Staying Productive
For many of us, it’s week 3 of working from home. Staying motivated and productive can be hard during these uncertain times, so we gathered some tips for working from home.
1. Repurpose Your Commute
A major perk of working from home is not having to go anywhere. Use this time in the morning for a workout, meditation, getting organized, or family time.
2. Dress for Work
It’s tempting to stay in my pajamas all day, but resist! You don’t need to dress as formally, but the simple act of changing clothes serves as a signal that it’s time to wake up and get things done.
3. Make A Plan
Keep a more structured daily schedule than usual, and don’t forget to include breaks throughout the day.
4. Location, Location, Location
Set up a dedicated and comfortable work space, if you don’t already have a home office. Don’t be tempted by your couch or bed!
5. Keep Clearly Defined Working Hours
Just as you designate your physical workspace, you should be clear about when you’re working and when you’re not. You’ll get your best work done and be most ready to transition back to the office if you stick with your regular hours.
6. Find A Buddy
You might find it easier to be productive without any distractions or chatty coworkers. But over time, those distractions might lead to feelings of loneliness. Find a colleague or friend who’s also working from home to chat with.
